HAND IN HAND

Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth – two beloved youth development organizations with roots dating to 1926 and more than 150 years of community service between them – are officially one.

As of October 1, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is the region’s premier youth development organization working to ensure that children and teens have the family, physical and social-emotional support they need to succeed in life. We are leveraging the expertise of our combined 290 employees to be an even stronger, more visible and trusted community partner.

Over the next year, we will:

  • Increase community partnerships in underserved areas with high demand for youth services.
  • Expand access to high-quality after-school and summer programs, supporting more parents who participate in the workforce.
  • Expand proven prevention and intervention efforts, including:
    • College readiness support for low-income teens and first-generation college students
    • Programs that communicate health risks related to alcohol, tobacco and drug use
    • Violence prevention programs and the Comin’ Up gang-intervention program, which service more than 600 youth ages 13-24.

We look to you to help shape our vision for the next decade as Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County’s devoted staff and community partnerships give more children and teens life-changing programs to help them succeed in school and life.

More than anything, our dream is to work hand-in-hand with you to provide families and youth across Tarrant County a place to belong.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF ARLINGTON, FORT WORTH UNITE TO SERVE MORE YOUTH AND FAMILIES AS BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GREATER TARRANT COUNTY, NOW LARGEST CLUB IN TEXAS

Following one of the most influential mergers in Boys & Girls Clubs of America history, Fort Worth and Arlington leaders celebrated on October 4 the new Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, a youth development organization that will serve nearly 22,000 children and teens this year. We were especially thankful to have Congressman Marc Veasey of Fort Worth, State Sen. Konni Burton of Colleyville and Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams join us for our formal kickoff.

We were inspired by stories of the impact that Boys & Girls Clubs can have on a child by author and entrepreneur Chris Gardner, a Milwaukee club alumnus, and our own Board of Directors Chairman Mark Caffey, who spent time as a youth in our Arlington clubs.

We are already seeing the positive impact of uniting our Arlington and Fort Worth organizations as Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. Our team is implementing evidence-based programs that help kids and teens succeed in school and life in sites where the programs previously were not offered, and we are strengthening existing programs through professional development to provide our kids the quality they deserve.
