There is nothing like having the opportunity to reflect on where you have been and think about where you are going.
In 2019, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County hit major milestones and shaped the future of our organization. It is hard to look back on triumphs when you are facing problems bigger than anything you could have imagined.
It's why I can’t write this Annual Report without discussing the current social climate that exists. Over the last few months the communities that we serve have been impacted by the novel coronavirus, an economic downturn, and a call for the long overdue racial equity. The Club is located in neighborhoods that, even in the best of times, face significant challenges. It has been critical that Boys & Girls Clubs pivot our services to meet the essential needs of our community. Through the week of August 14, 2020, the Club has:
During these unknown times, we have done whatever it takes for kids and families. We did the same in 2019.
We served over 28,000 youth across all of our programs and services. We opened new Club locations in partnership with Arlington ISD. The Club now has 26 locations of operation - eight traditional Clubhouses, fifteen school-based Clubs, two community centers, and one Club located in public housing. More than 2,500 kids walked through our doors on any given day because they needed the services the Club has to offer. That need only continues to grow.
What we achieve as an organization is made possible by the many critical partners and donors with whom we work- individuals, corporations, foundations, city/state/federal agencies, our board, and other nonprofits. Thank you for your trust and for your partnership. It is only together that we can continue to grow and serve how we are needed most.
Together we can,
