The fear and uncertainty our community is feeling because of COVID-19 is a feeling many kids experience every single day. That’s why the Boys & Girls Clubs exist. The Club provides a safe, familiar place - a sanctuary for kids, especially during challenging and changing times in a child’s life. At the start of each school year, a child advances into the next grade with new teachers, new classmates and in some circumstances, an entirely new school. However, in the midst of all of this change, the Club is a constant. When a child steps off the BGCGTC bus and opens our Club doors they can trust in familiar Club staff, friends and programs. We provide not only a physical space that keeps children safe, we provide an atmosphere of inclusion and comfort for children to become their best selves.
This year in particular will uproot every child out of their comfort zone. Kids are preparing for an educational experience that no one has faced before. Access to care that supplements learning loss is essential so that families can keep working as they navigate the tremendous challenges from COVID-19.
This is where kids and families can trust in us to provide.
To help support our Club members navigate this school year, we are opening up to five locations as Boys & Girls Clubs Back2Basics(B2B) school day learning centers. We opened our first two on August 17 with the start of school in Arlington. Others in Fort Worth will follow in the coming week.
Our B2B Learning Center will provide our members with:
Families need trusted places and relationships now more than ever. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has been the place that families come to because they trust us. And that remains unchanged.
Together we can,
They Trust Us
