April 15, 2020: Impact

Impact
noun
/ˈimˌpakt/:
come into forcible contact with another object; have a strong effect on someone or something

It has been nearly one month since our Club doors closed and we were forced to rethink how we would reach kids. One month since the blue doors of opportunity have been opened wide welcoming kids, one month since our busses have been in motion, one month since our program staff have been able to sit with their members, in person, to provide valuable counseling, tutoring and love.

The definition of impact: come into forcible contact with another object; have a strong effect on someone or something.

Many times in the last month, it seemed as though there would be barriers to fulfilling our mission. However, our team here at the Club has met those barriers with tenacity and grit - with forcible contact. We have found creative ways to meet kids where they are, and provide them with support they desperately need.

I invite you to take a look at our COVID-19 Impact Report, which will provide a snapshot of all we have accomplished in our relief efforts and give you a glimpse into where we are going.

I am incredibly proud of the way our team’s flexibility and drive. Together we have launched robust virtual programming, served more than 12,000 meals in a short time and found ways to still provide case management to our most vulnerable members. Even when the community at large is in crisis our team has been a representation of consistency to our members everyday - this is impact.

Together we can,

Give Today

Impact.
