Our Boys & Girls Clubs have partnered with law enforcement for decades. For many summers, school resources officers worked daily in our Clubs doing everything from running groups with teens to answering the phone. Yes, you read that right. Answering the phone is a job you do at the front door of nearly every Club which means you learn a member’s name and their story. That’s a great way to connect with kids and teens.
That same desire to connect with the community continues now.
Each day cars full of people line up on the street around the Boys & Girls Club to pick up dinner and check in with our staff. We’re paying attention to the traffic. And to be honest, the lines are getting longer each day. But we have some help. We’re fortunate most days to be joined by some of the hardest working members of the community, our police officers. They are helping with traffic control and, if they have time, they even help us assemble the learning kits we hand out too.
Thank you for standing together with us...even if it’s six feet apart.
Together we can,
Standing Together… Six Feet Apart
